Seamus MacPherson’s Ancient Red Waistcoat

This Ancient Red Waistcoat started life as a large ladies’ sleeveless jacket. Seamus’s wife Mairi tailored it into the waistcoat it is today, complete with pockets and darts. It was made by Calden Kiltmakers Perth & Blairgowrie.

It’s a nice waistcoat. I don’t wear it very often – I haven’t worn it in years. I definitely wore to the Gathering in 2018, and I wore it with the kilt that I now know is the Ancient Caledonia pattern. It’s special because my wife made it for me, and I love that.
