Seamus MacPherson’s Hunting Shirt

This Hathaway Viyella shirt was likely made in the 1950s or 60s. Viyella is a fabric made from a blend of wool and cotton. Seamus tells us:

I like this shirt. My wife tracked it down on eBay and I wore it a lot in 2021 when I rebuilt the Clan Macpherson Museum with her. We’d go down a couple of times a week and it became a kind of uniform, particularly when we met with members of the public or other clansfolk. I’ve only ever seen one other version of this, worn by a clan member at the Games every August. It had a couple of moth holes and the cuffs were frayed, so my wife mended it to extend its life. It makes me feel loved and appreciated.
