This kilt was made by the Kiltsociety. David tells us:
It’s a very heavy kilt – very nice – made of wool. I ordered it online in 2016 for the Platinum Dubh, for the first Clan Gathering I attended. I sent the measurements, and it was posted to me. It’s nicely made. The waistband matches it really well – they obviously took a lot of care making it. I wear it usually just at the Clan Gathering (and once to church!). I wear it to specific parts of the Gathering: when we get there, to show that we’re part of it. I wouldn’t wear it everyday – it’s too good to wear every day! I want to keep it for special occasions – like a best suit. It will probably go to my son Jim – it wouldn’t fit either of my grandsons, and will likely need to be taken in a bit for my son, too. It’s a nice kilt – it’s ‘good quality stuff’. I keep it rolled up in one of my wife’s stockings – Bill Macpherson told me about this at some point, that this is the way to maintain the pleats, so that’s what we do. I’ve never had to steam it or iron it. For me, the kilt is the appropriate kit for the Clan Gathering.
