This Pendleton wool shirt in the ‘Red’ tartan was made sometime between 1994 and 2009. Mairi told us:
I bought this on eBay sometime in 2023. It was listed as ‘XXL’ and sold by a vintage shop in Ukraine. When it arrived it looked really small, and on closer examination it turns out that it had been put through the wash and shrunk! It now fits like a size Small and the sleeves are really short. Washing it felted the wool and made the fabric really dense and thick – it is super warm and I wear it as a jumper in the winter.
